When they lie alone, after the detritus of everything
How the jaw clenches to produce the silent bulb.
Signifying the unchronicled, unshared revelation
It is dreamt of in the mouth like a shrub.
Only at dawn, under their duck down protectorate
Do the hours deliver the closing cycle of fresh starts:
Euphoria that hides the fault of habit
And the quietest of earthquakes in another’s layered hopes.
